KARE TV, The TEGNA-owned, NBC affiliate in Minneapolis-St. Paul is looking for a creative and ambitious producer to join our team. You'll be a great fit If you enjoy a collaborative, fun and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate must have a spirit for innovation, a passion for news, storytelling and producing a dynamic newscast and creating compelling content on streaming and other platforms.

Responsibilities:
• Produce the Saturday Morning show from our KARE studios with on-location duties for shoots and remote shows.
• Produce other newscasts, as needed.
• Book guests, write and produce guest segments.
• Research topics, learn about guests, prepare talent for every interview.
• Research facts and determine the credibility of information sources
• Find great content to share with our audience
• Lead and inspire a team to work together for a great newscast
• Coach on-air talent to be exciting and engaging
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer
• Preview upcoming stories, packages and segments
• Time show effectively and communicate with anchors, reporters and other talent on time cues/roll cues
• Oversee all in-show graphics and show titles
• Adept using social media and digital tools to discover & research stories, using reliable sources
• Must be a detail-oriented team player
• Field-producing experience and video journalism skills a plus
• Experience working with sponsors, clients and/or sales
• Line producing and control room experience on a live or live-to-tape production preferred
Requirements:
• Degree in journalism, communications or related field
• 1-3 years of experience as a newscast producer.
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
• Strong social media skills to deliver content and listen for ideas
• Knowledge of ENPS and Edius a plus
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
• Exceptional news judgement and ability to visually tell stories
• Editorial experience in fast-paced newsroom environment
• Ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change
• Proven experience producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
• Required on-site. Must be willing to work in Minneapolis/St. Paul metro.
Pay Range
$29.81 - $33.66 USD
