What We Do
We raise the quality level of audio in all Epic game titles and technologies as well as engage with a world-class team to create amazing gaming experiences.
What You'll Do
As a member of the Epic Audio Team, you will use your technical and creative skills to the fullest, helping define the future of interactive audio technology.
In this role, you will
• Create and implement audio assets for various key Fortnite features at a high quality
• Work closely with audio, art, and design teams to troubleshoot and implement solutions
• Utilize native Unreal Engine Audio features to push the boundaries of Game Audio (MetaSounds, Audio Modulation, etc)
• Write systems/tools to empower content creators and/or improve their workflows
• Utilize Blueprint, Python, C++, Verse, and more to debug issues
• Collaborate with designers over aspects of a particular implementation that may or may not be working once in game
• Strive to deepen the technical knowledge of the audio team by learning, documenting, and giving system walkthroughs
What we're looking for
• In-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine components, including but not limited to scripting, level editor, animation, and Sequencer editors
• Proficiency in native Unreal Engine Audio workflows
• Experience with game development methodologies such as the Actor+Component model, singletons, and data-driven design
• Highly self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills; able to manage tasks and priorities independently
• Ability to effectively debug scripting issues
• Experience creating quality audio assets using a DAW and familiarity with fundamental audio concepts and digital signal processing
• Ability to talk about and deconstruct other current games' audio quality and implementation
• Experience working on a AAA game product's audio
