The People & Culture (P&C) Partner is a key position within the Warner Bros. Studios Japan (WBSJ) P&C team. The position will support the P&C team as well as the business by providing solutions to employee-related matters, maintaining a balance between being a strategic business partner and employee champion. This position will continuously challenge the status quo and develop initiatives that ensure WBSJ remains an employer of choice. This position will be located in Tokyo with some anticipated travel.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Collaborate with the People & Culture (P&C) team to manage and resolve high-volume issues such as employee relations, performance and conflict management, coaching, development, retention, and compliance
• Partner with Talent Leaders, People Solutions, People Relations, and Employment Legal to ensure effective resolution and alignment with company standards
• Provide proactive guidance and training to promote an inclusive, respectful, and safe workplace
• Interpret and implement P&C policies and procedures that support the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Japan, APAC, UK, and the US, including Talent Acquisition, Center of Expertise partners, and Business Managers
Work Location
There are three business locations:
• Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo (located in Toshimaen)
• Harry Potter Shop Akasaka
• Harry Potter Shop Harajuku
This position is based at the office of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo
Qualifications & Experiences...
Essential:
• A minimum of 4 years of experience within Human Resources
• Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking and business advisory skills, combined with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and foster strong relationships with employees.
• Knowledge regarding Japanese labour law and compliance
• Demonstrated flexibility and agility, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and issues with minimal supervision
• Native-level Japanese proficiency, business-level English proficiency required
Desirable:
• Previous experience working in a multinational company and complex global matrix organisation is highly advantageous
• A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Human Resources or a related field
• Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn, grow, and develop
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience in working with a diverse workforce, including employees from different generations, from different cultures, with disabilities, etc.
• Experience in a retail or customer service environment with a relatively large workforce
