Job Title: Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated FP&A Analyst who can work independently to join our Finance team and support financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making. This role provides critical financial insights, forecasting, and reporting to drive business performance and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about the entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop annual budgets, long-range financial plans, and quarterly forecasts for streaming, theatrical releases, and content production.
• Leverage data analytics and financial modeling to evaluate revenue trends, content performance, subscriber behavior, and platform engagement.
• Build and maintain integrated financial and analytical models for financial performance, M&A, content investments, licensing agreements, and theatrical releases, enabling scenario planning and predictive insights.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for streaming and theatrical businesses, using data visualization and statistical techniques to identify variances, trends, and growth opportunities/risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including Content, Marketing, Distribution, and Production-to ensure financial planning and data analytics are aligned with strategic goals.
• Prepare executive-level presentations, dashboards, and reports that synthesize financial results and analytics into actionable insights.
• Conduct ROI, profitability, and predictive analysis for content acquisition, original productions, and distribution deals, incorporating audience and engagement data where relevant.
• Support month-end close activities with analytical reviews of revenue, expenses, and performance drivers.
• Drive ad-hoc analysis and strategic data projects that inform evolving business needs in the entertainment and streaming landscape.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, CFA, or advanced analytics training is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in FP&A, financial modeling, or business/data analytics, preferably within the media, entertainment, or streaming industry.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, with hands-on experience in data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python).
• Familiarity with financial planning systems (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and data platforms is preferred.
• Solid understanding of industry-specific financial and operating metrics (e.g., ARPU, CAC, LTV, box office trends, licensing revenue).
• Ability to translate complex financial and analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity, with a passion for leveraging analytics to influence business strategy.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities.
• Genuine interest in streaming, theatrical, and content-driven businesses, with enthusiasm for combining finance and analytics to drive performance.
