Job Description
CNN is seeking a Senior Director of Enterprise, a seasoned editor with a strong background in driving and elevating CNN's enterprise journalism. This leader's mission is to deliver a premium product on digital platforms by raising the quality, ambition and impact of CNN's most distinctive and deeply reported stories, many of which will be subscription-only pieces.
The ideal candidate has deep digital audience expertise and an exceptional track record of working with reporters and editors to sharpen and frame stories, craft compelling ledes and narrative arcs, and bring greater depth, voice and resonance to text journalism. This editor must be able to collaborate closely with video, graphics, photography and design teams to ensure that enterprise stories are not only well-reported but also dynamic, engaging and visually driven.
This position will work in close partnership with the Growth Team, aligning story selection and editorial direction with CNN's broader subscription strategy. The editor will report to the SVP of Enterprise and collaborate with the Senior Director of Enterprise Video to translate CNN's distinctive broadcast reporting into compelling digital-first storytelling. This person will regularly socialize learnings with other editorial leaders, acting as a connective tissue across teams and playing a major role in shaping CNN's enterprise identity on digital platforms.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Elevate CNN Digital's enterprise text journalism, with a focus on quality, originality and subscription impact.
• Partner with the Senior Director of Enterprise Video to deliver cross-format storytelling that aligns with CNN's editorial and strategic goals.
• Collaborate closely with Growth team on story selection, audience targeting and subscription-driving strategy.
• Serve as a thought partner to the SVP of Enterprise and the TV teams to bring standout broadcast reporting to life on digital.
• Mentor and guide reporters and editors, providing hands-on story framing, structural editing and narrative development.
• Ensure enterprise stories leverage multimedia assets, collaborating with visuals, video, photography, graphics and product teams.
• Edit and/or provide second reads on enterprise stories, helping shape top-line structure, deepen reporting threads and ensure reader engagement.
• Champion best practices in digital storytelling, packaging and audience engagement.
• Work with analytics and growth teams to evaluate performance and continuously improve enterprise strategy.
Qualifications & Experience…
• 12+ years of editing experience in a high-caliber newsroom, with a focus on enterprise, investigative or longform journalism.
• 3+ years of management experience
• College degree of equivalent industry experience
• Deep experience in a subscription news environment, with a clear understanding of what drives loyalty and retention.
• A sophisticated editorial eye, with demonstrated success elevating ambitious journalism and mentoring top-tier reporters.
• Fluency in digital storytelling formats and a proven ability to collaborate across visuals, video, graphics and product.
• Experience giving high-level feedback and editorial guidance across multiple teams; capable of raising the quality of work without being hands-on at every level.
• Strong strategic mindset; ability to align journalism with business goals without compromising editorial integrity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for cross-functional teamwork.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $133,000.00 - $247,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
