In this hybrid role, you'll develop and sell innovative advertising and sponsorship solutions across our sports properties, connecting brands with passionate fans through multiple platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Independently prospect regional and national accounts to create and sell sponsorship/advertising solutions utilizing our acquired league and team controlled sports inventory
• Develop customized multi-platform advertising packages that deliver measurable results
• Attend internal meetings to establish strategy and revenue goals and participate in weekly sports division meetings
• Serve as trusted advisor with clients, providing best-in-class customer service and creative partnership solutions
• Perform client services including media negotiations, presentation preparation and execution
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, which may include entertaining prospective and existing clients at sporting events
• Collaborate with Scripps national or local AEs on key client sales calls for sports sponsorships
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related field required, or equivalent experience
• Generally 5+ years of sports-related experience required
• Driving required. Valid Driver's License, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
• Travel required up to 25%
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Demonstrated record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable sales environment
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and customer relations software
• Working knowledge of various media sales platforms
• Strong influencing, selling and upselling skills
• Good organizational skills and time management
• Ability to present and negotiate with confidence and professionalism
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines in fast pace environment
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Outstanding presentation abilities across all formats and audience sizes
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
• Highly self-motivated and goal focused approach
